Circle Cutting Jig

I use this jig to cut circular pieces of wood. I designed and built this jig when I was building the stools for Luca’s Play Table. The jig can cut circles up to 26″ in diameter.

The jig is clamped to the tabletop of the bandsaw. There is a strip of wood under the jig that runs in the miter slot on the tabletop of the bandsaw. This strip aligns the jig with the blade on the bandsaw.

A dovetailed strip of plywood slides in and out to adjust the radius of the circle to be cut. Once being set, it is clamped in position using a ¼-20 Wing Knob on the bottom of the jig. This plywood strip has a pin (actually a nail) that fits into a hole in the center of the piece of wood that you want to cut into a circle.
