I made this live-edge coffee table for use on our outdoor covered patio (where it’s sheltered from the rain). The table is constructed from Western Maple which grew here on Vancouver Island and is finished with three coats of OSMO. The table varies in width from 14” to 20”, and is 64” long and 17” tall. The stretchers of the base of the table came from a piece of curly maple that Al Boudreau gave me a few years ago. This is especially memorable for me because Al and his wife Katheryn were killed in a small plane crash in 2020 on Gabriola Island. Very sad, but now I have a beautiful piece of furniture to remember them with. This table only took a couple weeks to build. One benefit of being socially isolated due to COVID is that it’s made me more productive!
