2017 OneTree Project Cabinet
I made this cabinet for the OneTree Project show which was held at the Robert Bateman Centre in Victoria, BC in 2017. The cabinet was constructed using shop-sawn veneers which were cut from a single plank of Walnut from the OneTree tree which was harvested on Vancouver Island. The cabinet has 7 drawers featuring Quilted Maple drawer fronts and hand-cut dovetails.
The cabinet feature some of my “standard” design details:
- Raised lip on the top back edge.
- Custom drawer pulls carved from a burl.
- Hand-cut dovetails in the drawers.
The cabinet is 47″ wide, 34″ tall and 17″ deep. It was finished with 3 coats of OSMO Polyx®-Oil.
