Debbie’s Jewellery Box

I designed and built this jewellery box for my wife for Christmas in 2003. The dovetail joints were all cut by hand. Each of the four dovetail joints took about 3-4 hours to complete. It is constructed using Black Cherry with Curly Maple panels in the top and bottom. The two smaller sliding boxes inside are made from Padauk and have solid Maple bottoms.

The jewellery box is 9″ wide, 12″ long and 4 ½” high. It is finished with hand-rubbed shellac and wax.
